Once upon a time there was a lively kingdom with lively people. In this kingdom there was a castle, and of course where there is a castle there is a dragon nearby. The dragon would roar loudly whenever he pleased and his roar would shake the grounds of the castle. This often happened at night and it would disturb the townspeople. But the people in the castle were too scared to do anything about it. They would cry and complain, but they would never dare take action. The king of the castle had two children. The king would ignore the dragon, but the children would complain constantly. They would kick and scream until they could scream no more.
One day, the children couldn't take it anymore. They ran outside the castle, ignoring the warnings of the town and the cries of their father. The children ran to the cave, just outside their castle and crept up to the dragon as it slept. They grabbed the dragon's tail and tied it to a nearby boulder. They knew the dragon would be stuck and it wouldn't be able to go outside it's cave to gather food. They returned to the castle and lied to their father, saying nothing had happened.
As hours turned into days and days into weeks, the dragon's cries turned to whimpers and then to silence. The children slept in glee at the sight of their triumph. The next morning they were wakened by the cries of their father. The children ran outside to find the dragon lying in front of the castle, dead. Their father explained to them that the reason for the dragon's cries was a large thorn in it's back. The dragon couldn't reach it to take it out so it cried for help. The children felt no guilt for their horrible act and continued living peacefully.
Several days later, as the children slept, they both had a dream. A dragon came to them and spoke. It told them that what they did was wrong and unless they feel remorse they would be punished. The children refused and for that were punished. The dragon flew to the air and vanished.
When the children awoke they weren't in a castle. They weren't even in a kingdom. They found themselves in a dingy apartment, with the stink of cigarettes and garbage. A woman called to them; she seemed to be their new mother. They remembered the dream and realized they were being punished. They cried and complained for it to end, but it never did. They became angry and bitter. They learned that their new name was Parson. They called their mother, Mrs., and their father, Tom. They had no one to blame, but themselves, so they blamed their new parents. Their life became training to get rid of their parents. That's all they ever thought about, that to one day get rid of their parents and somehow return to their kingdom. No lesson was ever learned.
